EXISTENCE
I've gone over this
already on the Nihilism
page, but I thought I'd go over it again in slightly more detail,
because this is a simple but very crucial element of the entire idea of
nihilism. If you can't understand or accept this, it's no use to try to
place everything else into perspective. It is quite understandable if
you can't accept it, however, since the SocioNihilist view on existence is
the start of negating mankind's worth and reason to exist, which mostly
isn't too pleasant to hear.
Tough shit.
SocioNihilist view on human existence
Mankind is but one of many animal species. We evolved from apes, have
grown quite
intelligent (compared to most animals, at least) and have succeeded not
to get extinct by working together through means of societies and other
(mostly) social means of cooperation.
I don't really feel like elaborating more about this, because that's
all there is to it. These are the facts. No intelligent human can deny
these facts. Everything else is just theory that cannot possibly be
proven. We are no chosen race, we are not created by some deity, we are
not put here by aliens, we are not meant to predict, cause or avoid armageddon,
we
are not meant to create a utopia, we are not meant to be "good" as to be worthy of some kind of "heaven".
We are a natural lifeform that follows its instinct to survive.
There is no meaning of life! If anything, survival would be it.
Current
(common) view on existence
Like I said before, I don't deny what mankind has "achieved" sofar. We
have been able to survive for several millenia, against all the odds,
by working together, creating hierarchies, structures, societies
etcetera, using our intelligence. No problem there.
What does trouble me is the arrogance flowing from this. We have gotten
it in our heads that we have "rights", that we have certain standards
that we should be granted because we deserve it. That we should have
some purpose here, some worth, some destiny.
We have become quite intelligent, but we're still too stupid to see
that we're just animals trying to survive, nothing more, maybe less. In
our newly achieved intellect (newly, because mankind is a very recent
species and has evolved quite quickly, compared to most other species)
we have not yet developed the ability to cope with the fact that we're
still just a futile replacable animal that will someday be extinct.
We've grown too smart for our
own good and are still finding a way to put all the pieces of the
puzzle in its place.
That's why we do what we have done for millenia. We've always had the
choice to either accept our futily and lack of purpose here, or to look
whether there is something more to it.

Cavemen created gods and mystical forces to believe in so they could
accept their lack of understanding of lightning, seasons and other
natural phenomenons. Still, to this very day and onward, we have
religions that are to replace our
inability to cope with our deficient knowledge (acceptancy, rather) of
our presence here, our purpose, our meaning.
We create entire philosophies that have to give us some kind of
understanding of human existence, "wisdom", some would dare to call it.
We try to understand "life" and existence, we take quests for knowledge
and "wisdom", so we can cope with what we already know but don't dare
to
think of or accept:
There is no meaning of life! There is no higher purpose for lightning,
seasons, death, disease, stupidity, life, intelligence, society,
evolution, everything! They only serve the individual survival
processes of each species, nothing more.
Forever we spend so much energy and time in schemes trying to cover
this up, so that we don't have to realize how mortal we really are, how
futile, how irrelevant, how needless. We continuously seek ways to give
ourselves a meaning in this world by giving value and importance to
goals that aren't asked for, goals that the world we live in has no
need for, just so we wouldn't have to accept the needlessness of it all.

view on existence

Again, this is where nihilism's creative side comes up.
We've had the destruction of what we know and what we think we know.
We've accepted that we live, we run up bills, then we die. There's
nothing more in between. (If you can't accept or believe that, you
might
want to stop reading, since this is an extremely crucial share of all
of SocioNihilism's ideas. I do suggest though, that you read on and really
think about it, especially the intelligence
and fear vision, hopefully that will clarify more.)
Now we have 3 choices.
1. "Lick my balls, nihilists, you're full of crap!"
You can keep living
the way you want to, believing in the lies you always have, using
surreal artificial schemes and structures to give you enough excuses to
mentally
drug yourself a way through life; religion, philosophies, social
comparison,.... Keep in mind though, that from that
moment,
you choose to
be drugged and fooled. You deliberately choose to be lied
to and to deny the facts.
Not the most rational and intelligent decision, in my opinion, but effective, if that's the effect you want to create...
2. "Screw you guys, I'm out of here!"
You can accept the facts, accept your futility, accept that you're
meaningless, expendable and will make no difference at all, and even if
you do make a difference on society, life, people or nature, it won't
matter. You can choose to revel in the pessimism and decide not
to take part of it anymore. Live in solitude, leave human society and
run away from it all by physically being in some other place away from
people, drugging
yourself physically with psychedelica or sedatives, or you can always
go hardcore escapist and kill yourself.
Running away from misery doesn't make it less miserable.
3. Make the best of it!
Yeah, I know, it sounds like some cheap charachter-building motto, but
that doesn't mean it's impossible.
Our existence is pointless, someday we will die, we've only got one
shot at this (although the hardcore escapist with a gun gets two). We've decided not
to live by futile rules, dogma's, artificial lifestyles and meaningless
predefined values. We've accepted our existence here and decided not to give up and
destroy ourselves.
The rational constructive alternative? Create your own values. Accept
that you have no destiny, but create your own. Accept that you will die
and turn to rotting meat someday, but enjoy yourself untill you do.
Acknowledge that we know but a fragment of nature and nurture, so
smarten yourself up, study, learn; don't live by rules and restrictions
government officials and scientists tell you to (let
alone some random arrogant git claiming to have achieved wisdom, or
your baker, or me, for that matter),
but find out for
yourself, experience what you wish to experience and learn from it,
because YOU experience your life, your death, and everything in between.
You never chose to be alive, but you chose not to be dead, because you
are reading this as we speak.
The choice is yours, it always is. There is no right or wrong in this
choice, there is only consequence. At every given time in life you will
have a choice, no matter how shit the situation is, you'll always have
a choice, as long as you can live with the consequences.
I can't live with wasting my life, having it spent living by
meaningless rules and useless philosophies or religions that I can't
agree with, being controlled by them in action and thought.
I'm not such a big fatalist that I'll spend my life getting drunk all
day or doping up because I can't cope with my futility and lack of
worth.
I choose to create my own destiny, my own worth, my own actions, my own
thought. I choose not to accept the mental illusional prison, yet I
choose not to run away either.
I choose to create and control my own action, thought and future,
devoid from all mental, social, philosophical and even psychological
restrictions.
Note that I don't reject "society", as I wish to see it
destroyed like morality and values. Society and many of mankind's
structures are some of the reasons why we've survived sofar, and I'm
convinced we still need those to keep doing so.
We have, however, evolved into the phase where society and it's values
have become the goal and the purpose to live, with life as the tool to
maintain society as it is; while society, morality and values should be
the tool to maintain human life as it is.
We have taken sociological variables, the presence of morality, the
quantity of our values and the degree of it as the factors to define
our worth as humans; we have, again, succeeded in creating a useless
prerogative to avoid to accept our worthlessness.
It's
this
order that needs to be restored, not by destroying society (read:
anarchy, amongst others), but by redefining our morals and values, by
going back to their roots and restructurizing them. Obviously, this
means they and their meaning need to be destructurized first. And this
is where most people find it hard to respect and accept nihilism, it
wrecks everything they believed in and called truthful, it even wrecks
the entire term "truth", it must change your way of thinking and
looking, which is very hard, or even near impossible.
"Fatal Error. Please Reboot."
More on this in the morality
page, however.
